Lighter bottles since 2022

In 2022 we switched from 550 g to 410 g per bottle — the lightest standard bottle that still looks like a wine bottle. Less glass means less energy in production, less weight in transport, less material in disposal. That adds up to several tonnes of glass a year that we don't produce and don't move.

Solar power since 2021

The system is on the barn roof, south-facing, and covers most of our electricity needs during daylight hours — exactly when the cooling in the cellar is running. In summer we feed surplus into the grid, in winter we draw from it.

Box returns with a discount

Anyone who brings the box back gets a discount on their next order. The box is reused until it can't be any more — usually three to four rounds. This only works locally and for collection in person, but there it saves a few hundred boxes every year.

No carbon offsetting

We don't buy certificates. What we do, we do concretely. What we can't change, we don't dress up.
