Our story
- 1970
- Othmar and Hilda Frühwirth acquire the house at Wiener Neustädter Straße 75 — a former Konsum shop. The mixed farm becomes the foundation for the Heuriger.
- 1993
- Extension and rebuilding of the Heuriger premises are completed. For the first time, ausg'steckt (open) is hung out at the new, cosier and larger premises.
- 1998
- Johann and Gerlinde take over the business full-time. Cellar and premises are modernised with great care; a new garden with a Salettl (garden pavilion) and a playground for young guests are added.
- 2013
- In November, a new tasting room and showcase cellar open — wine tasting in a stylish setting, with changing art exhibitions.
- 2003/04
- The hall opposite the family home becomes vacant and is taken over. This is where the new press house is built — to this day, the place where our wines are made.
- 2016
- The decision for organic is signed, and Hans joins the business. The two are connected: the trigger was a contaminated batch of spray two years earlier — and the question of what was actually being applied.
- 2018
- A gentle destemmer and a hose pump replace the old equipment. In the same year, the cut-out F on the label, in use since 2001, takes on its current form: simpler, slanted, slightly larger.
- 2019–2024
- Cooling is built up step by step — first a tube heat exchanger that cools the mash directly, then tanks with internal cooling fins, and finally dedicated fermentation control. The trigger was the hot 2018 vintage.
- 2026
- A new press replaces the old one, which had become too small — the mash no longer needs to be stored temporarily, which visibly does it good. And this website goes online.
